I guess it's official....

I'm a teacher now. Well...almost. I think that having a teaching portfolio/class website classifies me as a teacher. It's in the works so don't judge. Also...please don't laugh at the youtube videos too hard. They were a mandatory project that I did in 10 minutes. I'm pretty proud of my mission statement and curriculum though. Wooo wee.

(P.S. I'm totally open to suggestions and opinions! Feel free to fill out the comment form on the homepage.)

Traveling

Today I'm applying for a passport. I know I should have gotten one a long time ago but up until now I've never had a need for it. The only time I've been out of the country was when I was about 10 years old and we went on a cruise to Mexico (passports weren't required then). I never really had a strong desire to see the world either. Of course I would never have turned down an opportunity, but it was not a venture I had any interest in seeking out on my own. But now my mindset and desires have shifted significantly. After hearing tons and tons of unbelieveable stories from my friends that have traveled abroad, I've officially decided that traveling is something I need to do. And it's something I need to do NOW. Even though I'm still young, there is a only a short window of time left for me to do selfish things that only revolve around me. I could be getting married and starting a family not so long down the road, so right now is the perfect time to do it. I have a week long trip to Mexico planned in January that I'm sure will be like dipping my toes in the traveling pool. But THEN, I'm hoping to cannonball into the traveling pool next summer by going to EUROPE! I've gotten the "okay" from the parentals and now all that's left is plan plan plan. Right now I'm leaning towards a Mediterranean cruise. France, Italy, Greece, Vatican City, Spain? Who knows really. My mind has already changed a gajillion times. The only non-negotiable plan I have is that I MUST eat a croissant/baguette in a little outdoor cafe in France. I'm not sure where this trip will take me or what my official plans will end up being, but I do know that I'm really excited about it and I'm really proud of myself for pushing my comfort boundaries. Go me.
